Shared Goal – Shared Victory!
We have received a letter of appreciation from the State Emergency Service (SES) of Kherson Oblast! Our heartfelt thanks go to the brave rescuers for their service.
This recognition is not only for the NGO Self-Help Community, but for everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort. Together, we were able to help protect civilian lives and assist people in reaching safety.
It all began when rescuers from Kherson reached out to our organization, sharing the immense challenges they face during evacuations, firefighting, demining, and clearing rubble in frontline areas that are frequently targeted by Russian attacks.
We launched a fundraiser, and thanks to your generous donations, we raised 262,364 UAH, which enabled us to purchase 5 ELINT devices and 1 EW system for five SES units in Kherson.
These devices serve critical functions:
ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) detects drone launches in advance.
EW (Electronic Warfare) creates an “electronic dome” that disrupts drone navigation.
This technology allows rescuers to:
evаcuate civilians, clear rubble, and extinguish fires more safely;
detect drones before they approach and adjust evacuation routes;
shield convoys by jamming drone control signals;
transport people to safe areas even under threat of renewed strikes.
Thanks to our collective efforts, we’ve helped protect SES personnel working under constant danger, saved civilian lives, and made evacuations and emergency response operations significantly safer.
We sincerely thank:
The Markiv family (Philadelphia, USA);
Katia Koltsio (Connecticut, USA);
Lorraine Mishchuk (Winnipeg, Canada); and every single person who joined this mission.
In our next update, we’ll share the story of a family whose contribution made a decisive impact in supporting the rescuers.
