In 2023, the NGO "Community Self-Help" worked towards fulfilling its mission of advocating for the interests of Ukrainian Defenders, Veterans, their families, and fostering self-reliance skills within the civil society community.
Partnerships within the non-governmental sector played a crucial role in bridging the gap between reality and legislation. In pursuit of solutions for advocating mental health, Community Self-Help participated in various events, including:
The III Forum on Legal Reforms for Civil Society Organizations: "Becoming Stronger During War."
Civil Society Forum "Outlines of the Future: Victory, Recovery, and Modernization of Ukraine."
Veteran's Forum #DigitalForDefenders.
The III International Conference "Mental Health: Ukraine. World. Future."
Workshop by WHO "Charting the Path Forward: Revision of the Roadmap on Key MHPSS Actions with Representatives of the Non-Government Sector."
Regional Technical Working Group of the Kyiv Hub on #MHPSS.
At the forum in Poltava, Martha Pyvovarenko and Martha Kovalova from Lviv and Vinnytsia respectively shared insights on overcoming post-traumatic stress in adults and children.
Thanks to the efforts of advocacy specialist Martha Pyvovarenko, @communitys_help was able to participate in the First Mental Health Forum hosted by Ukraine. The forum was organized by the WHO and the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Martha Pyvovarenko and Zoriana Skaletska laid the foundation for the formation of a community of cognitive process therapists.
