Paths of Self-Help
10.10.2023

The NGO "Community Self-Help" has developed, created, improved, and worked on methodological materials, applications, and educational videos that enhance self-reliance and self-help for parents, children, psychologists, rescuers, and Ukrainians in occupied territories. Below you will find a summary and more information about some of the works of the Community Self-Help team:

The Harvard Humanitarian Initiative at Harvard University, along with Harvard Medical School and the Harvard University School for Public Health, invited experts from the "Community Self-Help" NGO - Marta Pyvovarenko, Kate Buchko, and Vitaliy Kharechko - to collaborate on improving the scenario for the "Save Lives" series of social videos. The video depicts how children react to assistance while under the influence of (dis)stress. You can watch the video at the following link.

The video is useful for anyone who wants to understand how to help children experiencing prolonged stress.

The "Vitality/Psychologist's Toolkit" application for assessing the client's condition.

The "PFA mobile Ukraine" application for psychological first aid, available on the Play Store or App Store, serves as a pocket assistant for rescuers, psychologists, and volunteers.

The "Breath Power: Somatic Tools of Psychological Recovery" manual is a desk and practical book for those who want to help themselves and their loved ones. More information about the manual can be found here.

Brochures created by the "Community Self-Help" NGO in September 2022 have not lost their relevance:

"Woman in Occupied Conditions (How to Preserve Life and Health)"

"If Your Loved Ones Are in a Combat Zone"
